Life-Cycle of a Frog

INTRODUCTION
Do you know what a baby frog looks like? It’s not born looking the way you think a frog looks. It goes through many stages to look like a frog. These stages are called a life cycle. A frog’s life cycle takes about 3 months to develop. Through this web- quest, we will study the life cycle of frogs. Be patient, learn and most importantly HAVE FUN!
TASK
You and your group will be given a baby frog. You will be responsible for observing the monthly changes in your frog and charting them, as well as taking pictures at the end of the month of your frog. You will also be answering some questions about the life cycle of frogs, that you will research using the websites given to you. At the end of the 3-month project, your group will need to present a narrative story including the digital pictures, showing the life cycle in book form.
PROCESS
DAY 1:
~First, we will discuss what we know about life cycles.
~You will then break up in groups of 5.
~Your group will need to create and print a monthly chart to help you record your observations. This chart has to be done using Microsoft Word. You will be keeping this chart in a folder. This chart is not to be handed in until the end of your project.
~After your chart is printed, your group will be given a baby frog! Sorry, but you won’t be able touch or feed your frog, it is only for observation. You will also be assigned to a digital camera, which you will use bi-weekly to take pictures of your frog. Take care of it!
~Take a picture of your frog.
